The location is great, just a short walk away from the subway station and close to many popular attractions. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with daily cleaning service. The staff is helpful and available 24/7 at the reception desk.
The staff's English communication skills were lacking, making it difficult to ask for travel advice.

Close to Subway, 5 mins walk to Gulou station. Restaurant and bars around. Nearby to Drum Bell Tower, Houhai and Nanluoguxiang.
They should provide some amenities such as towel, bath soap/shampoo for the one who stay in the private rooms.

Beijing Drum Tower Youth Hostel - very friendly staff and always helpful in solving any problems. Good rooms are clean and comfortable. Good location of the hostel. Walk 10 minutes to the metro station and 10-15 minutes to drive to Tiananmen Square. Near the hostel there are many souvenir shops and various cafes and restaurants as well as a large fruit market.

The location is wonderful just in the outskirts of the Houhai area. The price is reasonable and the facilities provided is up to standard. This time I lived in a double room and the standard and cleanliness was better than in the shared dormitories.

Great location with easy access to public transportation and several amenities nearby. The hostel's proximity to the subway and bus stops made it easy for me to explore the city. I also enjoyed the convenience of having convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast, although not the best, had soy milk, which I appreciated as it made a huge difference to the overall experience.
The staff was somewhat unhelpful, and some even seemed unwelcoming. I had to ask for directions several times to get assistance, which was frustrating.

central location
room was not really clean when we arrived there was a hugh spot on the pillow slip and on the blanket, after we complained at the reception they changed the pillow slip but did not change the blanket. For few days it is OK, but not for more then 2-3. The hostel we stayed before was the same good located, but much cleaner for the same price.

During my recent trip to the city, I found a perfect place to stay. the hostel had a really lively atmosphere, which made it feel very welcoming. the complimentary breakfast and the cute and cosy rooms added to the charm of the place. the hostel was situated in a prime location, making it very easy to get around the city and explore all the attractions in the vicinity.
On the flip side, I was slightly disappointed with the lack of hygiene and cleanliness in the common areas. the shared facilities could have definitely been maintained better, especially given the number of guests the hostel was accommodating.
